Finally, I got around to trying out this tutorial! I've been wanting to make one of these pouches ever since they started popping up all around the blogosphere! I made this one for my friend Sanna who is a great fan of bunnies.
So they were the key factor in fabric selection.
I teamed this lovely Megumi Sakakibara fabric featuring bunnies with a Westfalenstoffe print from the Kitzbühel collection.
More bunnies there! :-)
To tie the two together, I picked this floral print from London by Dena Designs. The zipper pull is another Kitzbühel print.
No bunnies, but squirrels are cute, too! Making the pouch was really simple following the tutorial and I'll definitely make more of them! I'm glad I didn't skip the interfacing on the main fabric, because it's nice the fabric has a bit more weight to it, highlighting the design and the boxed corners of the pouch.

Yay! I finished the quilt top of the In Color Order HST Block of the Month 2012 sew-along! Actually, I still just finished it in the old year on New Year's Eve, but only now managed to take some half-decent pictures.
This sew-along was so much fun and the idea of making a block a month was really appealing and realistic time-wise as well.
I used a mishmash of fabrics, some scraps or leftovers from other projects and I'm really happy with the result. The springtime colours are really appealing at this time of the year! The binding is a print from Josephine Kimberling's Just Dandy and I made what I had go further with that lovely Bonnie and Camille Bliss dot that I also used in some of the blocks.
I think I'll make a pieced backing and then bind it with that brown safety pin fabric. Let's see.
I have some other unfinished quilt projects, so I think I'll tackle those before starting a new one, but I think this won't be my last BoM quilt. :-)
